- How long will the assessment take? Two hours is the typical time needed for the Safety Home Assessment
- What questions will I be asked during the Appointment? We will ask some questions to get to know you and to help us understand your concerns with mobility and function in your home. Planning for mobility challenges with progressive conditions helps to identify solutions for the future.
- What is a typical Assessment like? We complete a walk through with you in your home. You will have time to explain and demonstrate concerns. We will point out additional potential safety issues that we notice. The process is interactive and individualized to your needs.
- How will I know what equipment or changes to consider? We will provide examples of adapted aids or grab rail options to find the best possible solutions for your needs. We consider your needs as well as the style of your home. The final decision is yours; our job is to help you find potential solutions.
- Will you take photos inside my home? We may take photos to help identify placement of grab bars or areas of safety concerns. The photos will be used only for your report unless you provide permission for us to use tham as examples with other customers or on our website.
- Will I get a report to help me remember what we discussed? Yes, we provide a typed report with the areas of assessment, concerns, and recommendations for you to consider. We can send the report by mail, email or both--whichever you choose.
- How do I pay for the assessment? Adaptive Home Solutions LLC provides services on a private pay consultation basis. Payment is due by check or cash at the time of the assessment. A receipt will be provided.
- Does Adaptive Home Solutions LLC bill insurance? We are not set up to bill insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. If you need Occupational Therapy Services that are medically required and prescribed by your physician and need to be billed to insurance, contact a local home health agency or medical provider who can meet these needs.
- How do I find a contractor/ to install grab bars or make changes or a designer to help me with remodeling changes and design? We can provide a list of contractors and designers to assist you with home modifications, installing grab bars, or larger remodeling projects. You are free to choose your own contractor if you prefer.
- Can Adaptive Home Solutions LLC meet with the designer and/or contractor to help me to develop a plan? Yes! Follow up services after the assessment are available but not included in the initial assessment cost. Meeting as a team is helpful to think through details so your project meets the intended results and to avoid costly corrections. This decision is up to you!
- Can Adaptive Home Solutions LLC come back to the house if our needs change? Yes, we are happy to offer follow up services. We can provide equipment training or meet with you if your needs have changed over time. Just give us a call!
